Birmingham-based DIY metallers Assurance have shared the very first taste of their brand new era in "Entropy", led by recent inductee Cuba Stanley, who has joined the group as their new lead vocalist. The new track comes alongside a vibe-drenched music video directed and edited by Shaun Hodson (Loki Films).
Combining the group's signature progressive edge with a more keenly melodic focus, "Entropy" is the band's most planetary and engaging song to date. Described by the group as a "complete audiovisual overhaul and rebrand", with infectiously anthemic vocal melodies and blistering, ferocious energy to match, the first step into Assurance's new era is a bold statement of intent: they're back, better than ever, and here to stay.
Furthering the band's long-standing DIY mentality, "Entropy" was written, recorded, mixed and mastered entirely in-house by Assurance in early 2025, with the band further handling all graphic design/artwork themselves.
This unwavering dedication to the DIY approach has fostered an environment for Assurance to truly spread their wings, flourish, and cement their sound and image without concession or compromise, and "Entropy" stands as a shining testament to the approach's success.
The release of "Entropy" also comes ahead of the band's upcoming self-promoted open air festival, The Sanctum, taking place later this month at Dead Wax in Birmingham on the 26th/27th July. The band will be joined by guest headliners Exist Immortal and The Five Hundred, alongside some of the best and brightest of the UK underground in the likes of INDEVTH, Waterlines, Recall The Remains, InRetrospect and more.
